|OFF-012| A Hard Come Back, But A Needed One!

Hello Exam Seekers,

It’s been a long while since I don’t show up here, right? Well, as many of you know, life is full of agitation, especially for an English teacher; therefore, many things have happened, and I had to choose what to prioritize.

Since 2022, I’ve been teaching in a new school in the big city of São Paulo, Brazil. I had to make lots of changes: rent an apartment, buy furniture and appliances, get a grip on how the school worked (plus, preparing classes, correcting tests, etc), and other personal life tasks. So life hasn’t been easy on me.

All of this made me quite upset because many of you – who have been following me for a while – know how much I love teaching, giving information, and helping.

Every now and then, I check the status, and I am glad people still look for my content, this means that it is still relevant and it is still helpful. This is actually the petrol that keeps my will going. I have students asking me “When will you go back to posting?” or “Do you still post content on YouTube?“. So here I am trying to come back!

I’ve already mentioned here a couple of times when posting about The importance of Teachers’ Development, that vacation is the period when teachers use to self-develop. Most publishers and schools offer courses for teachers, due to their lack of time during the year with classes and paperwork (homework correction, class planning, etc.), and this July was no different from the others. In Brazil, we are about 2 weeks away from going back to school, and many courses have surfaced. As many of you may know, Cambridge Day – which happens annually around this time – in São Paulo is about a week away.

So, if you are interested in learning more about teaching, language, and how to provide a better self for your students, colleagues, and supervisors, maybe you should use the vacation period to enroll in some development courses and workshops such as Cambridge Day.

For me, well… I have other priorities. This July, I’m trying to organize myself for a better second semester. As I mentioned, I plan on going back with the Exam-Seekers blog, Instagram, podcast, and YouTube channel, which will provide self-development for me and others. But I do have to have all my life organized, so I can go back rocking! 🙂

Moreover, there’s AI (Artificial Intelligence) now, which I have to see, how to keep up with planning, writing, programming, and all.

Comebacks are hard. I feel like it’s easy to keep doing what we are doing even if our schedules are full, but coming back from a long stop… that’s hard:

  • Researching and filtering content;
  • Writing and revising content;
  • Choosing and editing images;
  • Checking SEO and organizing the posts.

I really don’t know how I used to do everything (I had time! LOL). But even though I don’t have much time now, I have to find time and try. And this is what I suggest you all to do.

Time / Clock

Take the reading and the time to reevaluate your life and choices, and if you stopped doing things that make you happy and fulfilled due to the lack of time, try to find the time. Reevaluate your priorities; even if it’s hard, try and manage to do what you feel is right for you. That sure is what I’m going to do now.

Well, as I try, I suggest you all check out my Instagram and YouTube channels. Maybe you will find content to keep you developing while I don’t bring new stuff!
